Can These Nutrients Replace Your Pain Pills? Part 2 – Eggshell Membrane

Family in the carHey guys, welcome back! Last week we talked about a nutrient called Collagen Type Two. This week I want to tell you about another nutrient that not only helps relieve joint pain but it also helps your joints heal. This nutrient is called Eggshell Membrane. Before I get into to many details about Eggshell Membrane I wanted to tell you about my son’s trap shoot from the other week.

Two weeks ago, my son, Garrett, was shooting in his very first trap-shooting meet. He started trap last year and they only got a few practices in before all of the meets were canceled due to COVID. This year, he finally got his first meet under his belt and I got to tell you, it was so much fun to watch him shoot. The weather was near perfect with little to no wind. The trap range we were shooting at was really in great shape.

He actually hit 17 out of 25 of his targets in his first round. Then he hit 12 out of 25 in the second round for a combined score of 29 out of 50. It was so cool to watch him compete after so many practices this spring. He and his teammates had a blast. It was so much fun!

As I watched him shoot, it really got me thinking about how trap shooting and the competition really prepares kids for life. I’ve always been an advocate of sports and I really think competition, when it’s done the right way, teaches kids the skills they are going to need in life.

Learning Responsibility

When Garrett is shooting at the range, he is learning to be responsible for his own actions. You see, whether he hits the clay or not, it is completely on him. He can’t blame anyone else for missing a shot. It is in the preparation that he sets himself up for success, like when he learns how to adjust for the weather, makes sure his gun is clean so it doesn’t jam, is consistent with shouldering a shotgun, and practices. These are all his responsibility. That’s what pays off for him when he gets into the competition.

That’s where people start blaming others for their failures or their lack of success. We’ve all seen this and I’ve seen this all too often. People just fail to take responsibility for their own success or even their own failures. It always seems to be someone else’s fault or something else holds the blame. We’ve all heard the excuses from others. A ref made a bad call or my coach didn’t play me enough. My boss isn’t giving me a chance.

Listen… Success in life isn’t up to someone else, it’s up to you. I really believe those who are successful in life are the ones who take responsibility for their own actions. Success isn’t always measured in wins, losses, clay targets hit, money made, money loss, whether or not you got the promotion at work. I believe success is measured in your effort preparation and what you learned from the process despite the outcome. This is what molds and shapes you for your journey through life.

 

Speaking of success…

That was a long title. Say that one five times really fast!

Key Ingredient #2 – Eggshell MembranePicture of eggshells - Indicating eggshell membrane

This eggshell membrane has been shown to effectively reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling in arthritic joints. Eggshell membrane is also known as hydrolyzed collagen egg membrane. Basically, this is a protein that elevates the activities of cells known as fibroblasts.

Fibroblasts are the cells that synthesize collagen and what we call the extra cellular matrix. They are basically the building blocks of cartilage and connective tissues. These fibroblasts help to stimulate and grow the building blocks of cartilage and connective tissue. The health and activity of these fibroblasts are key in healthy cartilage and connective tissue.

In this study they took subjects ranging in age from 21-years-old all the way up to 80-years-old. All of these subjects had confirmed joint damage, cartilage injuries, and tissue disorders. They gave them 500 milligrams of the eggshell membrane in pill form for a 60-day period.

Now, what they saw was these subjects all showed significant reduction in joint pain, improved range of motion, decreased swelling, and improved mobility. The subjects also reported the hydrolyzed eggshell membrane was actually superior in treating their pain than their current pain medication was.

The study looked at the blood pH of the subjects. They found the blood pH of those subjects became more alkaline during the study. This is important to note because when the body is in more of an alkaline state, the inflammatory processes of the body is suppressed. What this means to you is that you have less inflammation and less pain.

You see, the human body is meant to operate in this narrow pH range. The ideal pH is 7.365 with a range of 7.34 to 7.45. At this level you have the proper balance of acid base, or you can think of it as acid alkaline. Minor fluctuations outside of this range causes all kinds of issues such as skin problems, inflammation, arthritis, chronic fatigue, and lowered immunity.

When all of these subjects started this study, they had blood pH levels ranging in the acid level from 4.5 to 6.0. They were far outside of the normal range. But just after 30-days of the 60-day trial, the blood pH levels rose to a range of 6.5 to 7.5. These folks were becoming more alkaline.

This correlates with the drop in pain levels drop, swelling, improved range of motion, and overall mobility that we’re seeing in the subjects of this study. Not only that, when the study looked at the quality-of-life measures for these subjects, they found it increased by 80% at the end of the study. This study was showing the hydrolyzed egg shell membrane is an effective treatment for those with joint and connective tissue disease.

How amazing is that?

This is another ingredient you can use to replace your NSAIDs and pain pills so you’re not dependent on them. What’s even more amazing is this ingredient is another one of the ingredients in the Joint Nutra Care supplement I talked about.
