PTA

I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska. Following high school, I attended Concordia University, University of Nebraska at Kearney and Northeast Community College. Prior to graduating with a license to practice as a PTA, I studied sociology and education. I became a residential counselor for behaviorally disordered boys from ages 8 to 18. I remained in this position while assisting to open up a treatment group home for boys in York, Nebraska. During this time, I also had the opportunity to be an assistant high school girl’s basketball coach. Upon graduation from PTA school in 2002, I began working in Elkhorn Nebraska in a sports/orthopedic PT clinic. Since that time I have worked in many different settings as a PTA, including a skilled rehabilitation center, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation in North Carolina, aquatic therapy, and home health services. I also have experience in rehabilitation management. I recently joined the Flex physical therapy team in October 2022.

The core values that drive me in my life are simple. Have passion for what you do. Display integrity, kindness and respect to others. Be the reason that someone smiles at a time when they feel hopeless.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

I provide treatment and follow the plans of care for multiple diagnoses. It has been extremely helpful for me to have had experiences in multiple physical therapy settings, which has broadened my knowledge, and skill sets.

Patients that come into our clinic are dealing with some sort of pain and discomfort. Sometimes they are even dealing with difficult life situations making the rehabilitation process even more challenging. I find that not only do we assist with alleviating physical pain, but also provide a safe space for people to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences about difficulties in their lives.

I especially enjoy treating patients that are eager to return to their prior activities, sport, and lifestyle. Just recently I was able to assist in rehabilitating a young man, back to playing soccer and running. This young man and I were able to go on several runs together outside of the clinic to assist in his rehabilitation before his discharge.

I love the connection that I have with all of the employees and clinicians at Flex. We truly have a work family and Our patients are amazing!
